Written in Italy, recorded in Stockholm and inspired by the unlikely French combo of Mr. Oizo and Olivier Messiaen, Heart Break Dance is Invader Ace’s most tedious work to date. Played through old 50s tube-radios via Fm senders, it was recorded in an old bomb shelter 3 stories below ground to avoid radio-signal interference. The Norwegian/Swedish duo has used only tuba, guitar, vocals and drum machines to create the different sonic results on this 4 track EP.
Invader Ace hails from the DIY community but are heavily influenced by the DJ and dance culture in addition to the more experimental art scene around the world. The band have been pushing the boundaries of the duo format, having a custom built rig of outboard effect processing and utilizing alternative instrumental techniques in order to be able to play mind blowing live shows and work creatively within their own signature sonic palette efficiently and effortlessly.
